  • The 4/5 bedroom farmhouse and 1 bedroom cottage have been beautifully restored, offer stunning sea views, immersed in the countryside and close to sandy beaches.  Perched on a hill looking across to the Amalfi Coast and surrounded by the Cilento National Park this location offers peace and quiet and within easy reach of all local amenities.  It has 5 acres of land with trees, gardens and terracing with a private track of 350m to the property approached from a quiet lane.  The village of San Martino Cilento is 2km and Laureana Cilento is 2.5km.  The beach at Baia di Trentova, pretty marina with restaurants and cafes, old and new town of Agropoli is 10km. The Greek temples at Paestum and mozzarella farms are 20 minutes drive. Santa Maria di Castellabate is 20 minutes drive. The closest railway station is Agropoli-Castellabate with trains running direct from Naples, Salerno and Rome.  From June 2019 the Frecciabianca will be offering a fast train from Rome to Vallo della Lucania.  There is an airport at Salerno-Pontecagnano 1 hour away.
    Pompeii, Herculaneum, Mount Vesuvius, Amalfi coast are all only 90 minutes by car.
    THE FARMHOUSE has stunning sea views across to the Amalfi Coast.  It is situated on 2 floors of approx 200 sq.m.  It is around 200 years old and built in stone.  During the restoration process we have used as many of the old materials as possible to maintain the character of the house (exposed stone, beams, ceiling slats, roof tiles, floor tiles) whilst creating an elegant, rustic and spacious home together with everything you could want for modern living. Every door to the front of the house leads out on the patio and gardens with sea views.

    THE STONE RUIN with stunning sea view which could provide the area to build another one bedroom cottage (subject to planning permission).  Situated in a secluded area away from the main house and cottage.  Lower terrace in the front.  Access could be created from the private track to allow a parking area and stone steps up to the cottage. At present used as a 'meditation garden'.

    THE LAND surrounding the property is approx 5 acres (20.000 sq.m). The land surrounds the properties and extends down to the lane bordered on both sides by a small stream to mark the boundaries.
    There is a water well of 50m deep with pump which is very useful for the garden and as a back up system in the summer months.
    The area surrounding the house and cottage is approx 1 acre consisting of:
    Rear terracing with stunning sea views with olive, fig, plum, pomegranate, peach, pear, hazelnut trees, red grapes and rosemary bushes.

    There is a large area between the main house and cottage which would be ideal for an infinity swimming pool to take advantage of the spectacular sea views.
    The upper track is lined with citrus, oleanda, fig and olive trees.
    Following the track down there is a wooded area on either side.
    There are 2 fresh water streams which mark the boundary on either side of the land down to the tarmac lane.
    There are no other houses in the immediate vicinity.  The land behind is a neighbour's olive grove.  The land to the side of the cottage (beyond the stream) is another neighbour's olive grove.  The land to the side of the main house (beyond the stream) is woodland and olive grove.
    There is an ancient footpath which runs behind the ruin and goes up to the village of San Martino and down to join our private track.  At certain times of the year it is covered in wild cyclamen.
    The private track is 350m long.  It is accessed from a tarmac lane which runs up to the closest villages of San Martino Cilento and Laureana Cilento and the lane down to Agropoli town, marina and beaches.

    The village of San Martino is 2km above the cottage and has 2 cafes, a pizzeria, pharmacy, butcher and 2 small grocery shops.  The medieval village of Laureana Cilento is also 2.5km and has a small hotel/restaurant, small post office and town hall.
    The old and new town of Torchiara is 6km where there are plenty of small shops, a couple of restaurants, pizzieria, 3 supermarkets, bakery, fruit shop, delicatessen, bank and post office.  There is a small market on a wednesday morning.
    There are a string of pretty coastal villages with sandy beaches within an easy drive.  
    The closest being at Baia di Trentova with a pretty bay outside Agropoli which is 10km.  
    There is also the long stretch of beach, bars and restaurants at the Lungomare (seafront) in Agropoli. Santa Maria di Castellabate is a pretty and traditional coastal village with several beaches and plenty of restaurants overlooking the sea and only 20 mins drive.  San Marco di Castellabate is also a small coastal town with a Thalasso Spa located on the marina.  Ogliastro Marina, Montecorice, Case del Conte, Agnone, Acciaroli .......... and many more heading south. 
    This area has been designated the Blue Flag which denotes clean and safe water and beaches.
    Heading into the hills and mountains of the Cilento National Park with a spectacular display of wild flowers and rare orchids, wild boar, gorges, waterfalls and being able to drive for miles without seeing a soul.
